3 Great mates.
Wolf Lane Distillery was founded back in 2019 by three (3) great mates. Two (2) of the trio Sam & Darren, packed up their families and made the bold decision to move from Sydney to the tropical region of far North Queensland, residing in Cairns. The third Partner Grant, still lives in Sydney and as you can probably imagine…. he visits the holiday destination as much as possible (any excuse Grant!).
A secret laneway.
Hidden down a secret laneway in the heart of the Cairns CBD, is 3 Wolves, a boutique whiskey, wine and cocktail bar. This is where it all started for the boys at Wolf Lane Distillery back in 2016.
Cairns small bar scene finally had some new energy and it wasn’t long before they opened up and expanded with Gin Social in 2017 (a small hotel lobby bar located in Hilton hotel) and then a tropical themed bar called Flamingo's Tiki Bar in 2018.
It wasn’t long before a decision was made to buy a little still and they started playing around with some recipes.
Now… to open a Distillery!
Next door to 3 Wolves, a 1905 heritage listed building became available, which was an original red brick horse stable from yesteryear. As you can imagine, the opportunity to expand yet again presented it self and in October 2019 Wolf Lane Distillery, (complete with its own bar) was opened.
For here Wolf Lane Distillery has gone from leaps to bounds. With a plethora of awards now won (As I write this in early 2021, it’s a total of 28 in total), including GOLD at the Australian Gin awards and the Worlds Best Navy Gin at the Gin Guide Awards a staggering feat in such a short amount of time!
We seek to support local farmers and growers that opt for sustainable and organic farming. This not only ensures the freshest produce is used, but also allows us to produce truly unique Australian spirits and liqueurs.

Tropical Gin
Handcrafted in Cairns, containing thirteen botanicals.The dry botanicals are steeped overnight - juniper, coriander seed, anjelica root, cinnamon, lemon myrtle, Tasmanian pepperberry, cardamom and macadamiaLocally sourced ruby grapefruit, mango, finger lime, lavender and mint are vapour infused in the gin basket.The result is a perfectly balanced citrus-forward summer gin.Navy Strength Gin
Our Navy Strength Gin pays homage to when gin was drunk by the Royal Navy officers and sailors alike whilst exploring the high seas. At 118 proof (58%), this gin packs a punch with strong notes of finger limes and ruby grapefruit. It will make a sailor out of you yet!
Davison Plum Gin
Our tropical take on a traditional sloe gin; swapping sloe berries for locally grown Far North Queensland Davidson Plums. The plums are steeped for up to 3 months to produce a truly unique sloe style gin at full strength. With an earthy aroma that is reminiscent of plum jam, stewed rhubarb and a touch of sweetness. It makes for a perfect after dinner gin.
